The rSBI Certificate in Finance & Economics

The Rutgers Stackable Business Innovation (rSBI) Program

The Department of Finance and Economics covers the areas of security analysis, portfolio management, financial planning, derivatives pricing, investment banking, capital budgeting, corporate financial management, banking, asset management, quantitative finance, risk management, and financial technologies (Fintech). Its courses prepare students for the CFA and the FRM examinations. After completing the program, students will be equipped with the training and skills to develop a career in the financial service industry by exploring complex real-world problems and utilizing cutting-edge technologies to find practical solutions.

Students enrolled in the rSBI program can earn certificates with designated concentrations (course sets are required) or without a designated concentration (courses are selected by the student).

Courses are taken during the fall and spring semesters. Note that not all courses are offered every semester.

Certificates with Designated Concentrations

The Certificate in Finance & Economics offers the following concentrations:

Certificate Without a Designated Concentration

The Rutgers Stackable Business Innovation Program Certificate is flexible and does not require the student to complete specific courses under a concentration. Rather, the student can choose any courses from the rSBI catalog and must successfully complete a total of at least 9 credits to earn the certificate. To earn multiple such certificates, the student must successfully complete disjoint sets of courses across certificates (no repeat courses).
