Undergraduate Program in Newark

School-to-School Transfer Admissions

Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark accepts school-to-school transfers for both the fall and spring semesters. Interested students must submit their online application by:

  • June 1 for the Fall semester
  • December 1 for the Spring semester

Criteria for Admission

1. Credits

  • Minimum Credit Requirement: Complete at least 24 credits at Rutgers University as a matriculating student by the time of application.
  • Students with More Than 90 Credits:
    • All students must fulfill a 30-credit residency requirement at RBS-Newark, which may require additional credits beyond graduation requirements.
    • Recommendation: Transfer is not recommended for students who will have 90 or more credits by the end of the current semester, as it may lead to extra time and tuition costs.

2. Grade-Point Average (GPA)

  • Minimum GPA: Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher at Rutgers University.
  • Admission Denial: Applications will be denied if the cumulative GPA is below 2.5 at the time of review.

3. Transcript Review

  • Credit Evaluation: All previously earned credits will be reviewed according to RBS-Newark academic policies after admission is accepted.

4. Missing Grades

  • Coursework Completion: All coursework must be completed with final grades issued by the end of the application semester.

Eligibility Courses for Rutgers Newark Students

Must be completed with a grade of "C" or better in each:

  1. English Composition I (21:355:101)
  2. English Composition II (21:355:102)
  3. Applied Calculus (21:640:119), Calculus I (21:640:135), or Honors Calculus I (21:640:155)
  4. Statistics (21:220:203) or Statistics I (21:640:211)
  5. Introduction to Financial Accounting (29:010:203)

Other Recommended Courses

Students are encouraged to complete the following courses, although they are not required for acceptance but will count towards their business curriculum:

  • Introduction to Economics – Micro (21:220:101)
  • Introduction to Economics – Macro (21:220:102)
  • Introduction to Managerial Accounting (29:010:204)

  • 33:010:272 – Introduction to Financial Accounting

Other:

    • 01:220:103 – Introduction to Macroeconomics
    • 33:010:275 – Introduction to Managerial Accounting
