Assistant Professor of Professional Practice
As a professional practice faculty member, Tom York has worked in multiple industries, including retail, manufacturing (frozen foods, chemical, and CPG), restaurants, hospitals, correctional facilities, and publishing. Additionally, York spent more than 15 years in boutique consulting, working on projects for small businesses and major corporations, including Conrail Rail Freight, Simon and Schuster Publishing, and major banks.
At Rutgers, York has focused on student development and has been involved in student organizations and developmental workshops in Excel, supply chain business analysis, career development, and high school and community college recruitment. Tom is currently working on a Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant in supply chain certification. Tom also serves on the Board of Urban Assembly School of Global Commerce (UASGC), a Harlem, N.Y. public high school focused on global commerce and supply chain.
Tom is a native of Arkansas and currently lives on the Jersey Shore. Tom is married and has three sons and four grandchildren.
