Nabil Mughal is a seasoned technology and business leader with over two decades of experience driving innovation and operational excellence in the legal and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Information & Innovation Officer at McCarter & English, LLP, Nabil leads the firm’s Technology, Innovation, Cybersecurity, Information Governance, Knowledge Management & Research functions, overseeing the strategic deployment of technology to enhance business performance, client service, and operational efficiency. With a career spanning over 20 years, Nabil has held two C-level positions in major law firms, demonstrating a deep understanding of the intersection of technology, business strategy, and client service. He rejoined McCarter & English in 2017 as Chief Information & Innovation Officer after previously serving as the firm’s Director of IT from 2003 to 2012. Between these roles, he served as the Chief Information Officer at Day Pitney, LLP from 2012 to 2017, where he successfully led the firm’s technological transformation, spearheading large-scale infrastructure upgrades, introducing innovative legal technology platforms, and strengthening the firm’s cybersecurity posture.
Nabil’s expertise extends across enterprise technology strategy, AI and automation, cybersecurity, and process optimization. He has consistently delivered high-stakes, high-impact projects, including the implementation of AI-driven contract analysis platforms, predictive litigation tools, and automated case management systems.
Nabil holds an Executive MBA with a concentration in Finance from Rutgers University. He is a frequent speaker at industry events on legal technology, AI, Innovation, and cyber security.
