Dr. Hassan's research areas include mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical industry, cost of capital and investment decisions, capital structure policy, charity care by non-profit hospitals, and medical malpractice, among others. His research articles have been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Business, Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA), Health Affairs, International Journal of Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Marketing, Inquiry, and many other peer-reviewed journals.
