Hosein Maleki is an assistant professor of finance in the Finance and Economics department. His main research interests are in empirical corporate finance, spanning the political economy of finance, law and finance, distress and bankruptcy, corporate misconduct, and corporate governance. His research has been published in top finance journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Finance. He has also presented his work at prestigious finance conferences, such as the NBER Summer Institute, American Finance Association, and SFS Cavalcade North America. Dr. Maleki's research has been covered by popular outlets, including the Harvard Law School Bankruptcy Roundtable, Project Syndicate, Duke Law School, and the Stigler Center’s ProMarket.
