Claire J. Yan

Dr. Claire J. Yan is currently an assistant professor in Accounting at Rutgers Business School. She graduated from the University of Houston where she earned her Ph.D. degree in Accounting.

Prior to her current position at Rutgers, Professor Yan previously taught at University of Arkansas - Fayetteville. Her teaching interests include financial accounting, managerial accounting, and government and nonprofit accounting. Her research interests include financial reporting and voluntary disclosure for both for-profit organizations and governmental entities. One of her papers recently published at the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy studied the determinants of U.S. municipalities' decision to use derivative instruments.
