Rutgers Business School’s Signature Leadership Series presents Rear Admiral (Ret) Dennis Moynihan, Executive Director, External Engagement at Quest Diagnostics, and moderator Joseph Schaffer, Distinguished Executive in Residence, Rutgers Business School.
Rear Admiral (ret) Dennis Moynihan was the U.S. Navy's Chief of Information from 2009-2012, serving as principal spokesman for the Department of the Navy and providing strategic communication counsel to the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations. He led the Navy's public affairs community of more than 2,500 communication professionals.
Moynihan began his first public affairs assignment in 1993 and served in progressively responsible roles on land and at sea throughout his Navy career. Upon retirement from the Navy, Moynihan joined Hess Corporation. However, since 2013, he has served as Executive Director, External Engagement at Quest Diagnostics. Moynihan is a 1986 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He earned Masters degrees from U of Oklahoma and the National War College.
Moynihan and wife Wendy are proud of their kids - members of the Class of 2025 and 2027 at USNA.
Joe Schaffer is a Distinguished Executive in Residence at Rutgers Business School. Schaffer was formerly the Associate Dean of Executive Education (RBSEE) and the Director of International Programs for Rutgers Business School. In addition to leading RBSEE, he also oversaw RBS’ Executive MBA program in Singapore and executive education activities in China. An active member of the International University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON), Schaffer has more than 30 years of corporate experience in leadership, management, and international human resources.
