Sophomore
At this point you should be fully aware of the many organizations and opportunities for you to get involved. Select one or two programs and acquire a leadership position. You can begin by chairing a committee or securing a position on an executive board. Organizations prefer to see a deep level of involvement rather than superficial associations with organizations. You may also seek out Externships as well as company sponsored Leadership Development programs and activities.
This your checklist:
- Revise your resume, eliminating all references to high school
- Research potential career paths
- Take a career assessment test
- Research industries and potential career paths
- Assume a Leadership Role within a Student or Community Organization
- Maintain a strong GPA
- Seek out and participate in Externship/Leadership Development Programs
- Attend various events, eg. Careers in Business Symposium, Business and Dining Etiquette
- Create a cover letter
- Update your profile on RBS Careers
- Attend exclusive RBS and other Career Fairs
- Learn more about firms via on campus presentations/meet & greets
- Master your 30 session commercial
