Study Abroad

Are you interested in studying abroad in another country? Year-long, semester and summer programs are available through Rutgers Study Abroad.
Many opportunities are available for New Brunswick RBS students to take business courses in other countries and earn credit toward their major. Business School students on average take 3 business courses abroad, not more than 2 electives. The student must satisfy all of the pre-requisites before taking any courses abroad and students cannot retake any courses overseas. Please refer to the Study Abroad for Business School Students flyer, which is a list of 45 approved universities that offer business courses and an Equivalency Guide, which documents approved and non-approved courses within those universities. If there are courses that you are interested in taking that are not in this Guide, students are asked to print out the course descriptions and bring them to the Dean’s Office for review.
Once students have decided which courses they wish to take abroad, the student must fill out a Course Approval form, which must be signed by the Dean. For a Rutgers Study abroad program, students must take a copy of the RBS Course Approval form to the Study Abroad office, located at 102 College Ave Campus before they go abroad.
For further information, please contact Helen Pensvalle, the RBS Study Abroad Advisor. She in located in the Undergradate Dean’s Office, Room 134 in the Janice Levin Building or email her at pensavalle@business.rutgers.edu.
Student Testimonials
"My name is Rosemary Mendonez and I recently studied abroad in Thessaloniki, Greece during my spring semester of Junior year in 2011. Studying abroad was the BEST experience of my life: I surrounded myself with so much culture, exposed myself to new foods and lifestyles, learned a whole new language, made friends from all over the world, and learned so much about myself. Studying abroad has made me more mature, determined, and most importantly, independent. Along with traveling all over Greece, I also visited Istanbul, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Prague, Paris, and Milan. I was able to take all my business classes abroad, all my credits transfered back to Rutgers, and it all counted towards my GPA. Studying abroad has changed my life so much that I am going back to Greece again this summer to see all my friends and I know that 40 years from now, I will look back on my life with a smile, proud of my journey."

"Is this a snapshot of the future? Is this wonderland? No, this is where I study abroad. Valencia, Spain not only offers great views, delicious food, outstanding climate, but also a superb education within the city's own public university surrounded by intriguing people from all around the world. Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Spain, diverge your opinions, redefine your worldviews, and enrich your language capabilities."

"I'm currently studying at City University London at the Cass Business School. London so far has been a great experience because I've had a chance to meet people from all around the world. Within my first week, I had already met students from Germany, Italy, Brazil, Malaysia, Iran, and of course local British students. It's also easy to travel from London to other European cities-- By the end of my trip I will have visited Barcelona, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dublin, Prague, and Paris. London itself has tons of great tourist attractions as well areas that make you feel like a local. I had a great time at my first English Football (soccer) match as well."
