The Honorable Virginia Long – a retired associate justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court who blazed a trail for women in law – encouraged members of the largest graduating class in Rutgers history not just to be the best, but to also strive to make a difference in the world.

Long gave the keynote address on a rainy Sunday afternoon during the university’s 247th anniversary commencement before a crowd of 30,000 at High Point Solutions Stadium on the Busch Campus. Her message resonated with students eager to start the next chapter and make change.

Rutgers Business School ranked: Top B-Schools for MBA Pay by Bloomberg Businessweek

The Rutgers Business School MBA program was recently ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek on a list of “Top B-Schools for MBA Pay.” Rutgers MBA graduates accumulated a median cash compensation of $2.2 million in a 20-year period according to the report, ranking it #33 out of 57 top business schools profiled. Nationwide, there are 502 AACSB-accredited MBA programs.

This marked the largest graduating class in the business school’s 83-year history.

Robert L. Barchi Named 20th President of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Dr. Robert L. Barchi – a renowned neuroscientist, respected educator and academic innovator, and successful fundraiser – has been named the 20th president of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Barchi was selected today by the Rutgers University Board of Governors and then ratified by the Rutgers Board of Trustees. Barchi will begin serving as president of Rutgers on Sept. 1. The Board of Governors also voted today to name Barchi a University Professor at Rutgers with academic tenure.

Avon names Johnson & Johnson's Sheri McCoy (Rutgers MBA '88) as CEO

Avon Products Inc. AVP has named Johnson & Johnson JNJ executive Sherilyn S. McCoy as its new chief executive, effective April 23. Ms. McCoy, 53 years old, has spent 30 years at Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as a vice chairman on the company's executive committee.“Shari is a tremendous executive: forthright, pragmatic, knowledgeable, decisive,” Deborah Dunsire, CEO of Takeda Pharmaceutical Co.’s Millennium Pharmaceuticals unit, said in a February telephone interview after McCoy was passed over for J&J’s top spot. Ms. McCoy will also join Avon's board. Her resignation from Johnson & Johnson is effective April 18. She has a B.S. degree in textile chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, a master's degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University, and an MBA from Rutgers University.

Hannah Redmond is one of those people. She is a student at Rutgers Business School in New Jersey and has chosen to take advantage of its part-time MBA program. She works full-time in marketing and communications at Rutgers, but wants to learn more about how what she does affects the bottom line. She is also interested in gaining the skills to become an entrepreneur and exploring topics such as entrepreneurship, ethics, leadership, sustainability, and more. "I love that I learn something in class at night and can apply it to a real marketing campaign the next day," she said. "I am constantly bringing case studies and ideas up in my department at work for things we can do differently."
