While few people agree on just about any aspect of Jill Abramson’s dismissal as executive editor of the New York Times (NYT), there’s general consensus on this: The company didn’t handle it well.

New Jersey Nonprofit Executives Participate in Long-Term Leadership Program Sponsored by The Prudential Foundation at the Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership

Senior executives from 14 New Jersey nonprofit organizations have been selected to participate in the second cohort of The Prudential Foundation Nonprofit Executive Fellows Program at the Institute for Ethical Leadership at Rutgers Business School.  Over a two-year period, this  group of executives meets once a month from September through June to take part in this comprehensive approach to developing both personal and professional leadership skills and competencies.

"We're delighted to continue our collaboration with Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership.  Together, we are helping to prepare the next generation of  executive leaders and making sure they have the business management skills and information they need to guide  nonprofit organizations  in the future," said Lata Reddy, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility at Prudential and president of The Prudential Foundation.

Rutgers Mini-MBA Entrepreneurship Program Offers Two New Enrollment Options.

Each participant in the accelerated course held Oct. 28-Nov. 1 is expected to create an actionable business plan and make a presentation to a mock investor panel as a final project.

Jennie Fine, the Rutgers Center for Management Development Program Manager, said, “While being a successful entrepreneur is highly rewarding, starting and running a business can also be overwhelming, emotionally draining and financially risky. The difference between success and failure often lies in the ability to create a logical plan, mitigate risk, minimize mistakes, and build a strong support system.”

She added, “The Entrepreneurship course in the Rutgers Mini MBA program focuses on these key elements of business success. Taught by both Rutgers faculty and seasoned entrepreneurs, the coursework combines the theory of traditional MBA programs with the real-world entrepreneurial training needed to lead a business venture to success.”

The program fee is $4,995 and includes the new Apple iPad, containing the pre-loaded program materials, for each participant. There are also two new enrollment options for the Entrepreneurship program for enrollees from companies with 10 or fewer employees:

  • Secondary Enrollment—Bring a colleague or advisor to one module of your choosing for $300. (iPad not included.) You will need to show documentation that he or she is a colleague/advisor.
  • Piggyback Enrollment—Two people from the same company can attend, with the first paying the regular fee of $4,995 and the second paying only $2,800. The second enrollment does NOT include an iPad. You will need to show documentation that you are colleagues.

Mini-MBA in Business Essentials conducted in Mumbai

At a time when innovative programmes are gaining in popularity, the Rutgers Business School brings to India a 'Mini-MBA in Business Essentials.' The programme, which will be conducted in Mumbai in association with Think Education, is expected to cover topics like economics, international business and trade, business strategy, managing human capital, leadership, marketing, supply chain management, analysing a financial statement, financial strategies, global financial markets and investing. The Mini-MBA will be held in Mumbai between August 29 and September 2, 2011.

"Over a span of five days, professors from Rutgers University will conduct two-hour modules on each subject. The Mini-MBA will also offer participants an opportunity to apply the concepts taught in class to the real world," says Farrokh Langdana, director, Rutgers Executive MBA, sharing details about the programme. Students who attend the programme will receive a Mini-MBA degree certificate from Rutgers Business School. "Mumbai is India's financial capital. Helping charities continue fight as downturn draws on
