Vimla Patel

Adjunct Member, Management Science & Information Systems, Rutgers Business School.  Dr. Patel is Professor of biomedical informatics and of psychiatry at Columbia University, and adjuct professor of psychology and education at Columbia Teachers' College in New York City.  Her research interests include Comprehension of Medical Information,  Decision-Making: Health professionals and lay people, Medical Errors in the Workplace for Patient Care, Socio-cognitive studies of patient safety and Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive assessment of Learning and Instruction, and Distributed Cognition and Scientific Collaboration in Medicine and Health.
