Professor Xiong awarded research fellowship for scholarly excellence

Professor Hui Xiong of the Management Science and Information Systems Department has been awarded a Board of Trustees Research Fellowship for Scholarly Excellence as one of the Rutgers’ most distinguished young faculty members. This research excellence award is based on the recommendations of Rutgers University President Richard L. McCormick and the University's Promotion Review Committee.The Fellowship carries with it a grant of $2,000 from the University's Board of Trustees to assist in Professor Xiong’s academic efforts in the coming year. The award will be presented to Professor Xiong and fellow honorees at a reception at President McCormick’s residence.Professor Xiong’s expertise is in Data Mining, Statistical Computing, Geographic Information Systems, Biomedical Informatics, and Information Security. He was also recently awarded an $18,000 research grant by Panasonic Technologies, Inc. as a result of the research accomplishments he has achieved in the area of data mining for security and safety of society.
