John C. Ruebush

John C. Ruebush
Director, Strategic Sourcing, Johnson and Johnson

How:

"I left Newark Airport on Sunday night.  I spent Monday and Tuesday at our plant in the United Kingdom and the rest of the week at our plant in Germany.  I flew back to Newark in time to show up for classes on Saturday morning."

Why:

"I work in an international technical arena and chose electives that offered an international perspective.  I was able to bring that material back into the daily functioning of our pharmaceutical technology department.  Shortly after earning my MBA from Rutgers, I was promoted to a senior position in supply management.  I'm involved in economic analyses, vendor negotiations, and other activities in securing raw materials for manufacturing sites around the world.  The knowledge I gained through my MBA experience has given me a broader perspective when I go to work on a new project.  It lets me ask some penetrating questions that I would not have considered before."

Postscript:

Recently John left BMS to accept the position of Director, Strategic Sourcing, J&J. John also interacts with the Rutgers Supply Chain Club and participates in seminars in the highly-regarded Supply Chain Management programs at Rutgers Business School.
