Heading A Global Giant
Humberto Patorniti (HAP) called up Prof. Langdana over the holidays and informed him that he was “very happy” with his new job, and really enjoying the “challenge of his position”. He informed Langdana that he had been employed by Sodexho Alliance, based in Mexico. Upon being asked the exact position of his new job, HAP calmly told Langdana that he was the President of Sodexho Mexico!
Scarcely six months after graduating from the Rutgers Executive MBA program, Mr. Patorniti had been appointed as the head of this global giant.
The Sodexho Alliance was founded in 1966 by its current chairman, Pierre Bellon. Today it is the world leader in food service, facility management and remote site support, employing 315,000 people worldwide in 74 countries. Sodexho generated approximately EUR $12.6 billion in sales in 2003 and has been listed on the Paris Bourse since 1983 and the NYSE in 2002.
“Without the Rutgers Executive MBA, I don’t know if this would have happened — what a huge Return on Investment this has been,” says HAP. “What I do know is how much I’ve learned from my professors, from my classmates — and from my learning team with whom I was blessed! Now I can walk into a room full of finance or business executives or marketers and immediately lock-in on key issues and ask pertinent questions. As it would be expected, in my current position I interact with the whole spectrum of business individuals; it is a rare day that I don’t apply some of the knowledge I learned. I use my EMBA knowledge every day; I mean that literally. It is my pleasure to share my success with Rutgers! Thank you for the education and the experience."
