Offer Guidelines

Exploding offers and expiring bonuses place enormous pressure on our students to make decisions before they have had ample time to review all of their options.  It is prudent to allow students to participate in the on-campus recruiting as it allows the opportunity for them to make an informed decision.  Placing undue pressure on our students to accept early makes it harder for us to enforce our policy against reneging.

If you make offers at the end of the summer to interns, we ask that you give them at least until November 3, 2008 so that these students may participate in on campus recruiting.

If you make offers to students through fall recruiting  (for the upcoming summer start dates) we ask that you give these students three weeks or until December 1, 2008,  (which ever comes later) to decide, and that offers made on or after January 1, 2009 be held open for two weeks.

In some cases, students may ask for extensions beyond these deadlines; we hope you can accommodate them.  We would also like to request that no large exploding bonuses be offered for early acceptances.

If you are interviewing for summer interns we ask that you give the students two weeks or until March 1, whichever comes later, to decide on offers.

Reneging Policy

Rutgers Business School Undergraduate-Newark specifically prohibits the acceptance of multiple offers by our students.  We strongly discourage students from accepting an offer with an organization only to renege or decline that offer at a later date.
