Rutgers - Earned Excellence The Best Business Schools in the World

Greetings from the Program Director

Over 50 year ago, Rutgers Business School Professor William Von Minden decided that careers in the accounting profession should be open to individuals with backgrounds in the Arts and Sciences. Professor Von Minden’s dream was realized by the creation of the MBA in Professional Accounting Program.

The MBA in Professional Accounting Program is specifically designed to train graduates holding degrees in the Arts and Sciences for careers in accounting. The first of its kind in the world, this 14-month program integrates management skills with accounting theory and practice. Our program focuses on developing ethical business leaders who are ready to face the challenges of a dynamic global economy.

This 65-credit degree includes course work, teamwork, computer work, case studies, and final team projects.  Calculus and statistics may be required in this program if it was not completed at the undergraduate level.

The program begins in late May and concludes in mid August of the following year.  Professional Accounting graduates are eligible to sit for the CPA examination.

I invite you to inquire into the possibilities created by the MBA in Professional Accounting degree. As you will quickly learn, the possibilities are endless. A degree in accounting can lead to careers in public accounting, private industry, government, education, self-employment, not-for-profit organizations and corporate consulting. We place over 90% of our graduates with average starting salaries of $60,000.

I welcome you to visit our faculty and students to learn more about this extraordinary opportunity. You should also visit our website. Please feel free to make an appointment to speak with me or e-mail me at ajsannella@business.rutgers.edu.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.
